GEAR sink IMF sampling theory

Darwin requested to merge darwin/gear_sink_theory into master

This MR adds latex files that describe the theory behind the IMF sampling in the GEAR sink module. It's a copy-paste of what I wrote in my master's thesis. Let me know if I should improve it to be more consistent with the other theory documents.
